Processes in Africa: Election <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Digital tools that support civic engagement and government transparency.&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/youthdemocracycohort.com\/glossary\/civic-tech\/\"  data-mobile-support=\"0\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex='0' role='link'>Civic Tech<\/a> Fund is a grant mechanism designed to strengthen citizen participation, transparency and the integrity of electoral processes in Africa. <br><br>With a total budget of <strong>&euro;175,000<\/strong>, this fund will provide grants ranging from <strong>&euro;10,000 to &euro;25,000<\/strong> to selected projects, helping them implement their activities and achieve lasting impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Managed by Africtivistes, the Fund aims to encourage the emergence of <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Digital tools that support civic engagement and government transparency.&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/youthdemocracycohort.com\/glossary\/civic-tech\/\"  data-mobile-support=\"0\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex='0' role='link'>civic tech<\/a> and support the rise of new communities committed to electoral transparency, specifically by strengthening citizen participation, particularly among youth and women, and enhancing the transparency and integrity of electoral processes in Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This call is launched within the framework of two projects:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/youthdemocracycohort.com\/about-digitalise-youth\/\">Digitalise Youth<\/a>, powered by the <a href=\"https:\/\/digitaldemocracyinitiative.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Digital Democracy Initiative<\/a>, which aims to strengthen digital democracy, youth participation and influence in democratic processes through digital means in 14 African countries.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/ahead.africa\">AHEAD Africa <\/a> which aims to improve transparency, integrity and citizen participation in electoral processes through strategic and technical support to African civil society.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:41px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who can apply?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Fund targets <strong>young people<\/strong> who meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Young people aged <strong>18 to 35<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Nationals, or residents, of one of the following 14 countries:<strong> Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Ethiopia, Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, and Togo.<\/strong><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be part of a <strong>legally registered group, movement, association, or startup<\/strong> or part of a <strong>consortium<\/strong> that includes an entity registered in one of the Fund&rsquo;s target countries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Their operations must be located within the <strong>Fund&rsquo;s target countries<\/strong> (listed above).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Demonstrate <strong>strong commitment to continuing their project<\/strong> beyond the grant period.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have the capacity to provide <strong>narrative and financial progress reports<\/strong> throughout the project&rsquo;s implementation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Their initiatives should be directly aligned with the <strong>Fund&rsquo;s priority areas<\/strong> (listed below)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>They should propose <strong>open-source solutions<\/strong> to foster openness and reusability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:41px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Priority areas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Proposals should align with one or more of the following priority areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Electoral Civic Technologies:<\/strong> Innovative technological solutions applied to electoral processes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Citizen Engagement and Electoral Processes:<\/strong> Initiatives that strengthen citizen participation in democratic processes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Media and Information:<\/strong> Projects focused on improving the quality and integrity of electoral information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Legal Framework:<\/strong> Addressing legal and regulatory aspects of electoral processes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:41px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 It focuses on enhancing digital skills, promoting <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Digital tools that support civic engagement and government transparency.&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/youthdemocracycohort.com\/glossary\/civic-tech\/\"  data-mobile-support=\"0\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex='0' role='link'>civic tech<\/a> solutions, and raising awareness about online political engagement.
