The WYDE*<\/strong> Civic Engagement project is a component of the Women and Youth in Democratic Engagement (WYDE) by the European Commission. *WYDE : Women and Youth in Democratic Engagement<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

WYDE Civic Engagement is part of a wider<\/em> programme (WYDE<\/a><\/strong>) that seeks to empower and strengthen the rights, and participation in the public and political life of youth and women as key actors of development and change. The initiative promotes political pluralism and the inclusiveness of democratic processes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project seeks to enhance the involvement of youth in democratic processes at national, regional, and global levels: Advocacy and Research Capacity building of civil society and youth leaders (primarily in Sub-Saharan Africa) Support to EU delegations (in any country in the world)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The voice of Youth, when empowered and united, has the power to reshape democracies and bring about a brighter, more inclusive future for all. This is the basic observation through which WYDE Civic Engagement is advocating<\/strong> for greater youth political participation in democratic systems across the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WYDE Civic Engagement also produces youth-led research<\/strong>,<\/strong> to widen the evidence base on the proven methods of youth inclusion and participation in democracy worldwide. The flagship deliverable will be the Global Youth Participation Index<\/strong>, which fills an important gap in the available data on the state of youth participation in several spheres of public affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operating at regional and global levels, five projects aim at engaging young people active in public affairs<\/strong>, strengthening the capacity of existing youth actors, and creating new networks of youth leaders across the world. The WYDE Civic Engagement project also complements its activities at global and regional levels with ad-hoc country-level support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
